February is the month of love and friendship here in DR. Yeah, Valentine’s Day is not enough, it is the complete month¡
As you might imagine, it is a perfect time of the year to invest in people to strengthen relationships.
On the 17th of February, we hold our first Coordinators Meeting with the goal to plan and design what Microfinance will be doing during 2016 in the communities of Jarabacoa.
All the members of Microfinance (or Associates as we like to call them) are part of one of our eight Micro Banks. Each of the Micro Banks has a Coordinator. Typically the Coordinator is a tireless fighter woman who has proved to have a natural leadership within the community where she lives to face her responsibilities as a mother, spouse as well as entrepreneurs. They are our day-to-day link to our Associates and each one of them has an impacting life story.
As Yahaira (one of the Coordinators) said, “Microfinance has been game-changing in my life. I’ve learned to manage my resources and I’ve achieved some of my old-days dreams, and I know there is more to come”.
It makes us very happy to be able to invest our time and resources in women as Yahaira and we are really thankful to God of being part of what is going in the life of these women. We would love you to partner with us¡
